RISING FROM THE ASHES OF THE MEAN STREETS OF SLC...hahahaha...
in the fall of 2004, chuck and i (rob) were out dumpsterdiving next to a skate spot we found behind a store. all i found was a fucking dirty diaper and a bunch of juice that squirted at me when i opened the lid. i said that we should make a country song about that. for a long time we never thought of it again. then a couple months later i recieved an email back from against me. i had written them asking why they make fun of the girl in the song 'baby, im an anarchist' for 'believing in the ballot and believing in reform'. the reply was that it was a joke song. so, we decided to steal that song and play it with more fucking heart (baby)! we decided to do shit different than any bands in our area were doing at that time. we said we'd only play shows that were dangerous or that would make things out of the ordinary and be diy as fuck. we practiced every now and then at the park next to my appartment. after getting a few songs together, i met billy at work and brought him to see us practice. he danced around and even sang when he figured out words to the choruses and such. so, we asked him to be in the band.
we have played shows in a laundromat, street corner, anarchist collective, and even on TRAX. (wish you were there) and we plan on doing even crazier shit.
bombs and beating hearts got it's name from the crimethink intro and from a song by tom frampton. in addition to a band we also have a graffitti/fsu crew and a (bike) jihad.
Bombs and Beating Hearts have shared the stage with the likes of Acro, James Miska, Joshua Faulkner, Raven, Gary Bikehouse, Gabe, Bobbi Ogden, Soy O.D., Toby (Jeremy 3), Shane, Wingnut, Automaton Rockstar, Dorian, Nokturnal Emission, Chris Carter, The Culprits, Fyzyk, Obsessive Disorder, Niktab, QstandsforQ, Tom Bennett, Los Reaction, +, Days May Come, Corporate Invasion, Deviancy, Gertie Fox, John Crocker, Peter Shaffer, Chin Up Meriweather, Brook Pridemore, Guitar Bomb, Giant Haystacks, Surrender!, Tom Frampton, Las Cruces, Zombie Bazooka Patrol, Jessel Harry, Hazards For Headlights, BUILDING BRIDGES, Hanna the spirit hamster, Whiskey Smile, Mancub, Scary Canary, Redbear, Russ Substance, Johnny Hobo and the Frieght Trains, Ryan Harvey, The Door-Keys, Madeline and some others that we don't remember too well. (if we missed you or someone you know, please tell us!) and you know what? those shows were better than any "big show" we've ever been to!!!!
